Azure Cosmos DB for PostgreSQL is a managed database service for PostgreSQL extended with distributed table capabilities via the Citus extension, enabling highly scalable relational applications. Worker nodes provide compute and storage for multi-node clusters. Note: This service is on a retirement path and no longer recommended for new projects.
Specification
Service type: Managed PostgreSQL database with Citus distributed tables
Compute model: vCore-based billing per node
Node type: Worker node for multi-node clusters
Billing: Monthly vCore charges per node (compute and memory)
Storage: Configurable per node (0.5 TiB to 32 TiB)
Minimum cluster: Starts with 2 worker nodes
Regions: Multiple Azure regions supported
Status: On retirement path, migration to Azure Database for PostgreSQL Elastic Clusters recommended
