The Novaris RJ45-8CAT6 is a high-performance 8-port rack-mount surge protector designed to safeguard critical network equipment from electrical surges and lightning strikes. Engineered for versatility, it is fully compatible with CAT5, CAT6, and CAT6A cabling standards, supporting high-speed data transfers up to Gigabit 1000BaseT. Its robust 2RU 19" rack-mount steel enclosure provides a professional solution for monitoring system cabinets and network hubs.
Equipped with advanced multi-stage protection, the unit features 10kA Gas Discharge Tubes (GDT) for primary front-end protection and silicon-based secondary elements for low-impedance response. This combination ensures large common mode surges are dissipated while maintaining exceptional protection levels for sensitive electronics. With a response time of less than 5ns, it reacts almost instantaneously to overvoltage events to prevent hardware damage.
The RJ45-8CAT6 is fully PoE, PoE+, and High Power PoE compatible, capable of passing up to 1A of current per signal pair at 80VDC. This allows for seamless integration into modern Gigabit PoE systems with 4-pair power up to 160W. Its metal body and shield pass-through connectors ensure uninterrupted shielded network spans, making it compatible with both UTP and STP cabling for maximum flexibility in diverse installation environments.
Compliant with international and Australian standards including IEC 61643-21 and AS/NZS 1768, this protector ensures peace of mind for mission-critical infrastructure. The black powder-coated steel finish provides durability in harsh operating conditions ranging from -40°C to 70°C. Easy to install and ground via a dedicated earth terminal, it is the ideal choice for protecting telecommunications and signalling networks.
