The Novaris RJ45-16CAT6 is a high-performance 16-port rack-mount surge protector designed for critical network infrastructure. Engineered to protect equipment connected to twisted pair cabling, it is fully compliant with CAT5, CAT6, and CAT6A standards. This robust 2RU 19" rack-mount unit provides a primary 10kA Gas Discharge Tube (GDT) per signal pair to dissipate large common mode surges, paired with silicon-based secondary protection for exceptional equipment safety.
Designed for modern high-speed environments, this protector supports network speeds up to Gigabit/1000BaseT without signal degradation. It is fully compatible with both Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) and Shielded Twisted Pair (STP) cabling. The metal body and shield pass-through connectors ensure uninterrupted shielded spans, while the low impedance design maintains network integrity.
This unit is exceptionally versatile, supporting PoE, PoE+, and High Power PoE standards. It can pass up to 1A of current per signal pair at up to 80VDC, allowing for Gigabit PoE systems with 4-pair power delivery up to 160W. This makes it an ideal choice for protecting high-powered devices like PTZ cameras, wireless access points, and VoIP systems from transient overvoltages.
Compliant with international standards including IEC 61643-21 and UL 497B, the RJ45-16CAT6 ensures professional-grade reliability. Its narrow 20mm depth and standard rack dimensions allow for easy integration into existing server cabinets. Whether managing a data centre or a local office network, this Novaris protector offers the ultimate defence against lightning and electrical switching surges.
