The Seagate Exos X24 ST16000NM002H is a high-performance, enterprise-class 16TB hard drive designed for hyperscale applications and massive scale-out data centres. Engineered for 24x7 operation, this drive offers a market-leading 2.5M-hour MTBF rating, ensuring maximum reliability in demanding environments. Its helium-sealed design reduces friction and power consumption, providing a lower total cost of ownership (TCO) through superior energy efficiency and a lighter weight compared to air-filled drives.
Equipped with advanced technologies such as PowerBalance and PowerChoice, the Exos X24 allows for customisable power consumption and performance levels to suit specific workload requirements. The 7200RPM spindle speed and 512MB cache deliver sustained data transfer rates of up to 285MB/s, making it ideal for large data transfers and low-latency tasks. It is built to handle heavy enterprise workloads of up to 550TB per year, providing the endurance needed for modern cloud and RAID storage solutions.
Security is at the forefront with Seagate Secure features, including Instant Secure Erase, which simplifies drive retirement by making data unrecoverable in seconds. This SATA 6Gb/s drive also features digital environmental sensors that monitor internal conditions to ensure optimal operation at all times. The combination of high capacity, robust security, and proven helium technology makes the ST16000NM002H a trusted choice for critical data infrastructure.
Designed for maximum rack-space efficiency, this 3.5-inch drive supports both 512e and 4Kn formats through FastFormat technology, allowing for easy integration into existing and future systems. Whether you are scaling a cloud data centre or managing a massive big data application, the Exos X24 delivers the scalability and performance required to manage growing data demands with confidence.
